Summary of New Production

The EIA 2008 Annual Energy Outlook forecasts that petroleum and liquid fuels consumption will increase from about 20 million barrels per day now to about 22.8 million barrels per day in 2030.  It also forecasts that total petroleum imports will decline, falling by about 10% in 2020, and then rise, ending at about the same as current levels in 2030.  Total domestic oil production is estimated to be 6.16 million barrels per day in 2020 and 5.6 million barrels per day in 2030 in the EIA reference case. The following table presents a summary of the EIA forecast for crude oil production and the additional production possible from the various resources we identify in our new domestic production plan.
